Dr. Jayampathy Wickramaratne has resigned from his parliamentary position, Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri told Parliament today. He had informed the Secretary General of Parliament that he has resigned as a Member of Parliament with effect from 20th January 2020. Wickramaratne is a constitutional lawyer and was a member of a Cabinet committee that drafted the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
