Dr. Saman Rathnayake has been appointed the Deputy Director General of Laboratory services at the Ministry of Health today (02), stated the Secretary of the Ministry of Health Dr. Sanjeewa Munasinghe. The appointment was made after the previous Deputy Director General Dr. Amanda Jayalath had been evicted following several failures in the laboratory services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
