A landslide was reported along the 16th mile post of the Ella-Passara road due to heavy rains.
This was announced today (28) by the Director General of the Road Development Authority (RDA).
The road was closed earlier today (28) due to a landslide warning which was issued as there were rocks and mud falling onto the road.
The road is expected to be reopened after inspection by the National Building Research Institute and the Road Development Authority (RDA) who will then decide whether or not the road is to be opened for the safe passage of vehicles.
