Extremists create unwanted tension by speaking against cremation: State Minister

State Minister Indika Anuruddha said extremists want to create unwanted tension in the country by speaking against the cremation of bodies of COVID victims.

The State Minister further said that he calls on the leaders of all religions to teach the people the right thing through their teachings on this issue.

He was speaking at the opening of two new houses in the Divulapitiya Divisional Secretariat Division in the Gampaha District under the “Obata Geyak- Ratata Hetak” national housing programme.

These houses were opened in Godigamuwa West and Diklanda areas in the Divulapitiya Divisional Secretariat Division.

This programme is being implemented in 14,022 Grama Niladhari Divisions in the country.
