Police Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that a fake news post which detailed that explosions were to take place in Mirihana, Nugegoda, Mount Lavinia, Dehiwala, Wellawatta and Bambalapitiya areas was circulated on social media last night.
Following a probe into the matter, it was revealed that a person had created this post on April 25, 2019, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated further.
Further investigations in this regard are being carried out under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Mount Lavinia.
