The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified Naufer Moulavi as the mastermind behind the Easter Sunday terror attacks. Minister of Public Security Dr. Sarath Weerasekara revealed in Parliament today that the institution he was working for has also been confirmed. Weerasekera made this statement in Parliament today with regard to the controversial statement made by Attorney General Dappula de Livera who mentioned that the accused in the Easter attacks could not be prosecuted during his tenure. Following this statement made by the Attorney General, the Minister recently instructed the CID to submit a report in this regard. However, 9 cases have been filed against 32 suspects so far and necessary steps will be taken to file cases against the other suspects as well, the Minister said. The Minister said that information has come to light that several foreigners were involved in the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks and that an Australian national of Sri Lankan origin, Luqman Talib, has already been arrested in Qatar. The Minister also revealed that there is information that 4 Maldivian nationals were also involved in this terrorist attack.
