05 May 2019

A decision is yet to be made on the fuel price revision for the month of May. The latest revision on the fuel prices was announced by the Ministry of Finance on 12 March with no fuel price revision announced in April for petrol, diesel, kerosene oil, and furnace oil. However, on 24 April, a price revision for Bitumen was announced after six months with bulk Bitumen 60/70 per kilo rate at Rs. 75.70 and bulk Bitumen 80/100 priced at Rs. 75.50 per kilo. The previous price of bulk Bitumen 60/70 per kilo rate stood at Rs. 77.50 and bulk Bitumen 80/100 was at Rs. 80. A ministry source when contacted by The Sunday Morning stated that the Ministry was yet to decide whether it would call for a price revision for the month of May. Further stating: “It is unlikely that there would be a revision this month on fuel prices.”
