The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) issued an extraordinary gazette fixing the price of a kilo of white sugar with effect from today.
Accordingly, a kilo of packaged white sugar will be sold at Rs.90 and a kilo of bulk white sugar at Rs.85. Meanwhile, the wholesale price of a kilo of white sugar has been fixed at Rs.80.
The gazette was issued by CAA Chairman Major General (retired) Shantha Dissanayake.
