The Health Ministry will issue the gazette for Covid-19-related health guidelines under the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Act within the next two days, according to Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Pavithra Wanniarachchi.
The gazette would enable the authorities concerned to take the necessary legal action against those who violate the guidelines.
Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) and the members of the Election Commission (EC) had informed the Government and the Health Ministry of the necessity to gazette the guidelines under the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Act so as to ensure it is strictly followed by the public, especially political parties, politicians, and their supporters when campaigning for the election.
