The Government has repaid a USD 1 billion debt by the deadline which expired yesterday.
Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera said that despite the 51 day political crisis, the Government was able to meet its commitment to repay the debt.
He said that by meeting the deadline, the Government has maintained an unblemished record of paying debts on time.
The Minister said that Sri Lanka will build up it's external reserves through Swaps,Term Loans from friendly countries, ISBs and Credit Lines.Government repays USD 1 billion debt

The Government has repaid a USD 1 billion debt by the deadline which expired yesterday.
