Jordan has declared a six-month common amnesty for Sri Lankans who are employed illegally in Jordan, to leave the country without facing any legal action, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) said.
Jordan had declared an amnesty period starting from February 5 to August 3 for Sri Lankan expatriates who do not possess valid working Visas, to rectify their status or leave the country.
Around 3,500 Sri Lankans are staying in Jordan illegally. (MM)
