Q: Guvindu, tell us more about yourself.
A: I am Guvindu Damsilu. I live in Kospalawinna, Ratnapura. I am a grade 3 student of JMC international, Ratnapura. I am an only child and I live with my parents. My hobbies are drawing, reading, acting, and singing.
Q: You told us that your favourite hobby is drawing. What do you like to draw?
A: I like to draw scenes from nature. I also like to draw images that are in books or on paper. I don’t trace them. I observe the image and try to draw it exactly as it is. It gives me really good practice.
Q: What is the last book you read?
A: I read anything that I get a hold of. The last book I read was something called Raassagala.
Q: Do you study dancing and music as subjects?
A: I do learn dancing and music at school, but not privately. But I practise a lot at home.
Q: Have you participated in any competitions?
A: Yes, mostly school competitions – speech and drama contests, art competitions, singing, and music too. I never miss any event happening at school. I have won many medals and certificates. I am usually first in class too.
Q: How do you manage your time to do all these activities?
A: I work according to a timetable. My parents help me to attend to that. I usually finish all of my homework as soon as I come home. Then I do the rest of my homework after I play and have a wash in the evening.
Q: What is your dream job Guvindu?
A: I want to become a doctor. I love helping those who are in need. That’s the best thing a person can do.
Q: Who are your supporters?
A: My parents and my best friend Pahandi akka. I have to thank all the uncles and aunts who helped me during teledrama shoots. Also, Mr. Janaranjana Pathirana of Shade Mirror Modelling Agency.
