Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Leader Sajith Premadasa today condemned the remarks made by the President over a speech MP Harin Fernando made in parliament and said Harin is a fearless youth leader and not a terrorist.
The Opposition Leader said MP Fernando’s speech made in parliament was his democratic right.
“The President reacted strongly to Harin’s speech. It shouldn’t have happened. We have no issue with the fate of LTTE Leader but no one can compare Prabhakaran and Harin. Harin is not a terrorist but a fearless leader,” MP Premadasa said.
He said it was not appropriate to challenge the speeches made by MPs in parliament. “This is a blow to democracy. A threat to Harin is a threat to the entire SJB. As the SJB, we will stand by Harin,” he said.
