Hearing of cases via video technology begins at Court of Appeal

The Court of Appeal has commenced hearing of cases through video technology from yesterday, the Ministry of Justice today said.

It said the video technology was introduced to streamline court proceedings and to continue hearing of cases despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, the cases were heard in Court Rooms 205, 110 and 107 of the Court of Appeal yesterday.

For this purpose, necessary connections were made through the internet from Welikada and Angunakolapelessa Prisons.
