I donate my vaccine doses to the people of the country: Sajith
Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa says one of the reasons he and his wife contracted the Covid virus was their refusal to accept the vaccine, as he believes that all the citizens should be vaccinated before him. He stated that he donates his vaccine doses to the people of the country.
The Leader of the Opposition and his wife Jalani Premadasa made this statement to the media after recovering and visiting the Hunupitiya Gangarama Temple this morning to seek the blessings of the Sangha.
The Leader of the Opposition also stated that he had done so on the principle that the people of the country should be vaccinated before receiving the vaccine.
“As a public servant in this country, I do not expect to be vaccinated until all the people in this country are fully vaccinated. I donate my vaccine to the people of this country. The health of the 22 million people living in the country and their longevity is important to us instead of our personal prosperity. My message to the people of this country is that we will bring the maximum number of vaccines that can be brought to our motherland and spread it to the maximum until we ensure that the people of this country are vaccinated as soon as possible,” he said.
