Despite the efforts to continuously conduct the national vaccination drive against Covid-19, Deputy Director General of Health Services (DDGHS) Dr Hemantha Herath stated that current immunisation rates in the country are not at the expected level.
These statements were made at a media briefing held today (14).
“We do not know whether people are waiting to get the vaccine they want. If you are not travelling overseas and if you want to protect your family and loved ones, obtain the vaccine,” he urged.
Meanwhile, Dr Herath also noted that there are rumours of various post vaccine side effects including impotence, but he reassured that none of these side effects are scientifically proven.
