National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) CEO Dr. Kamal Jayasinghe today stated that the Chinese Covid-19 vaccines would be brought down as a government to government donation and that it was not taken as a business decision. “We will not stop importing the Indian Covishield vaccine. We require that for the second dose of those who were already vaccinated,” he told The Morning. He also stated that pharmaceutical companies were not involved in this decision and that the decision was taken jointly by the government and the NMRA.
