The High Commission of India has issued a statement which clarified the recent participation of the Consulate General of India in Jaffna at a “Green Exhibition” held recently in Sangiliyan Park in Nallur, Jaffna.
The statement noted that several incorrect media reports regarding the inauguration of a Green Exhibition and distribution of plant saplings by the Consul General of India in Jaffna have been circulating.
Accordingly, it was mentioned that the Consul General attended this event upon invitation and such participation can in no way be associated with the organizers or their acts, outside the official programme, about which he had no prior information.
