The Deputy Commissioner General, Tax Administration (Corporate Small Entities & Non Corporate Sector) of the Inland Revenue Department M. J. Gunasiri has been appointed the Commissioner General of Excise.
He replaces R. A. Bodaragama who assumed duties as the new Commissioner General of Excise in January 2020.
This is according to a letter issued by Secretary to the Ministry of Finance S R Attygalle on 30 November 2020.
He is expected to start operations as Excise Commissioner General with effect from 14 December.
