The water level of the Kalu river is reported to be rising due to the heavy rains.
Due to this, there is a risk of minor flooding in the low lying areas of Ratnapura, Kuruwita, Elapatha, Kiriella and Ayagama areas, the Irrigation Department said.
The Department has urged people living in these areas to be vigilant for the next three hours.
