Isolation will be extended if guidelines not followed: Police

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana today said the isolation status of the areas would be extended if the people in these areas failed to follow guidelines specially in respect of conducting PCR tests. “You need to follow the instructions of health authorities specially in respect of PCR tests. If you disobey the health authorities, the isolation period would be extended,” he said. He said the isolation of nine police areas in Colombo and 32 Grama Niladhari Divisions across the country would be continued. Police have arrested 36 suspects for violating quarantine regulations yesterday. A total of 1,562 suspects have been arrested so far for violating regulations since October 30.
