Jeevan Thondaman has been appointed as the General Secretary of the Ceylon Workers' Congress (CWC). The appointment was made by the political committee of the party. Jeevan Thondaman is the son of late CWC Leader and Minister of Community Empowerment and Estate Infrastructure Development Arumugam Thondaman. He signed nominations this month to fill the vacancy left behind by his father's untimely death on 26th May. The CWC is yet to appoint a party leader to fill the position left vacant following the demise of Arumugam Thondaman.
