The Colombo High Court today sentenced Kanjipani Imran to six years imprisonment for possessing and trafficking 5.3 Kg of cannabis. In March, Mohommad Najim Mohammad Imran alias Kanjipani Imran was deported from Dubai and detained by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). Imran had been arrested together with underworld leader Makandure Madush at a hotel in Dubai before he was deported.
