The Katunayake-Colombo Expressway has been closed off until further notice due to low visibility caused by smoke from a fire in the area, police said.

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said that the Ja-Ela to Katunayake section of the Katunayake Expressway has been temporarily closed. The fire had erupted from a garbage dump in Ambalammulla, Gampaha. Public has been advised to use alternative roads.
