Keiran’s dream is to fly

12 Jul 2020

Today, we feature Keiran Radheeth Rathnapriya in Little Stars. Keiran is a six-year-old who studies at Apollo International School, Kandana. He is very passionate about travelling, religious studies, drawing, and building toy structures using building blocks. Keiran, introduce yourself to us. My name is Keiran Radheeth. I am six years old. I study at Apollo International School in Kandana and I am starting Grade Two this September. I live with my parents and I have one sister who is elder to me. I have a best friend. His name is Sehas. My class teacher’s name is Sharunya Kanagaratnam. Do you have any hobbies? I like to play. Sometimes, my sister joins me or else I have my toys to play with. During the curfew, we spent a lot of time at home. So I had a lot of free time. I taught myself to build different structures like planes, helicopters, and jets using tiny building blocks. My mother said that this break brought out the creativity in us. Although I don’t quite understand what that means, I enjoyed building different things so much. But now, we don’t get a lot of free time because we have to participate in online classes. We get a lot of homework now. So my sister and I are very busy with schoolwork. Our term tests are coming up too. Do you only build aircrafts? Mostly, yes. Any particular reason for that? I like to be able to fly one of those things when I am older. I think I want to become a pilot. I love to fly and look down from above. It is very nice. You told us that you are interested in religious studies. Tell us a bit about that. I love to learn stories about Jesus. I used to go to Sunday school at our church, where we learn a lot about Jesus. I am waiting impatiently to go back to Sunday school.
