Dispelling rumours, the Government asserted that it would not impose an import ban on kitchen or home appliances.
Cabinet Spokesman and Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella said that no such decision had been taken.
“There will be no such restriction on any kitchen or home appliances,” the Minister said.
He noted that no decision in this regard was taken at yesterday’s (26) Cabinet meeting either.
“It was not taken up in the Cabinet.”
