Kusal Jayawardana was appointed as Deputy Managing Director of Alliance Finance Company PLC (AFC) with effect from 1 March 2022. Prior to his new appointment, he served on the Board of AFC as Executive Director of Finance and Operations, since 2018.
Jayawardana is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder, and also holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Open University of Sri Lanka in collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning, Canada. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA), is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) 2012, and was also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (ACCA).
He has considerable experience in the finance sector and has served in several senior management positions. His career spans over 20 years in financial services at the NDB Group Capital Markets Cluster, at ICICI Bank, Colombo, and Liege Capital Partners (Pvt.) Ltd.
During this period, he has served as a Director of several listed and private companies. He was also the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NDB Capital Ltd., Bangladesh from 2009-2012 and gained invaluable experience and exposure in doing business overseas. Currently, he serves as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Integrated Reporting Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
