Lanka Indian Oil Company PLC has been granted permission by the Ministry of Power and Energy to open 50 new fuel stations islandwide.
This announcement was made today (08).
Meanwhile, speaking to The Morning LIOC Managing Director Manoj Gupta said that an advertisement is soon to be released on the locations of the stations.
"We just received permission and we still haven't decided on where the stations will be set up. We will be putting out an advertisement and once dealers apply, we will have a stringent process of evaluating location, financial status of the dealer and land area. This process will take some time. In my opinion it will take at least another 3 months for operations to begin" said Gupta.
