Following Litro Gas Lanka’s release of a new gas cylinder to the market without prior approval, the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has requested for a report on the same.
Litro Gas Lanka introduced a Litro Premium Hybrid 18 Litre Cylinder last week, priced at Rs. 1,395.
However, this product’s marked capacity was in litres instead of kilograms. It was revealed that the quantity in this new cylinder had been reduced to 18 litres in the usual 12.5 kg cylinder, whereas the usual 12.5 kg gas cylinder, priced at Rs. 1,493 in the market, contains 25 litres of gas.
The CAA is probing the matter and has asked Litro Gas Lanka to submit a report in this regard.
The Authority meanwhile assured that there will not be any shortage or increase in the prices of gas in the market.
