The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) celebrated 70 years as a political party yesterday (02), and in celebration the party officials and supporters attended a zoom meeting hosted by SLFP party leader, Maithripala Sirisena.

Commending the party for it’s patience and transparency over the last 7 decades with a progressive vision, the former President emphasized that challenges, criticism, vilification and temporary drawbacks are common for each political party.

Sirisena drew attention to the historic statement made in Matale back in March, which promoted the ideology of the party, the strengthening of the assets acquired by the party and the new set of ethics for Sri Lankan politics the SLFP hopes to introduce.

He also went on to include that the central working committee, politburo, parliamentary team, all Ceylon working committee, executive committee and all other networks of the SLFP will be re-organized in the future.
