As per a letter issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), the maximum interest rates that may be offered or paid by a LFC on the Sri Lanka Rupee (SLR) deposits shall not exceed the interest rates derived in accordance with Table 01 below and will replace Direction 1.1 (i) of the Finance Business Act Direction No.04 of 2020 on amendments to the Maximum Interest Rates on Deposits and Debt Instruments.
The revised rates are to be implemented with effect today (01) onwards, until further notice.
Meanwhile, the maximum interest rates derived for debt instruments as in Direction 1.2 of the Finance Business Act Direction No.04 of 2020 on Amendments to the Maximum Interest Rates on Deposits and Debt instruments are to remain the same.
Accordingly, applicable SDFR and WAYR of 364 days T-bills on deposits and debt instruments as in the below Table 02
