The Brandix garment factory in Minuwangoda has resumed its operations today (04) after being closed for two months, officials of the Minuwangoda Brandix stated. Health authorities permitted to reopen the factory today subject to health and quarantine requirements, stated Area PHIs. Accordingly 150 staff members in the cutting section will resume factory operations today. The Brandix garment factory was closed a day after the first detection of a COVID 19 case on 2 October. Since then, more than 1000 workers out of its total strength of 1500 workers were tested positive for COVID 19, starting the second wave of global pandemic in Sri Lanka.
