Eight out of 12 matches in the Major Club Four-Day League tournament concluded on Sunday (4) on several grounds on the island. Most matches were affected by inclement weather but Moors and Burgher Recreation Club (BRC) managed to win their respective games to remain in the hunt for a spot in the finals.    Moors registered a dominant win against Kandy Customs by an innings and 108 runs. Dinuka Dilshan’s century with the bat and half-centuries from Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Pabasara Waduge, and Ramesh Mendis helped Moors post 377 runs for their first innings. Kandy Customs struggled with the bat as Theeshan Vithushan bagged five wickets apiece in both innings to secure the win for Moors.    Former Peterite Skipper Dushan Hemantha’s all-round performance helped BRC secure an easy six-wicket win over Galle CC on Sunday. Hemantha bagged a seven-for to rout Galle for just 178 runs. In response, BRC posted 275 thanks to half-centuries from Lahiru Samarakoon and Dushan Hemantha.    In the second innings, Galle were cleaned up for 149 with Hemantha taking four wickets while experienced Thilakarathne Sampath took a five-for.
