Opposition parliamentarians yesterday (22) raised objections in the House against the attire of a governing Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Member of Parliament (MP).MP A.L.M. Athaullah walked into the House in attire that did not fall into the category of either national or lounge attire.As soon as he walked into the chamber, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha raised a point of order and informed the Speaker that Athaullah's attire was in violation of the Code of Conduct for MPs.SJB MPs S.M. Marikkar and Harin Fernando also raised objections among other opposition MPs.When the Serjeant-at-Arms tried to ask MP Athaullah to leave the chamber, he refused. However, the MP later left the chamber amidst the Opposition’s jeering.
