As the new moon of Dhul Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, had not been sighted last evening (10), the Colombo Grand Mosque stated that Eid Al-Adha (Haj festival) will be celebrated on 21 July.
Dul Hijjah is the month during which the Hajj pilgrimage takes place and is the last month of the Islamic calendar.
