Nalaka Edirisinghe, a former member of the board of directors of ETI Finance and Swarnamahal, has surrendered to the CID today, stated Police Spokesperson Ajith Rohana.
Meanwhile, Jeevaka Edirisinghe, Anjali Edirisinghe and Asanka Edirisinghe were arrested by the CID last evening (05).
Attorney General Dappula de Livera had yesterday instructed the CID to arrest the former board of directors of ETI Finance and Swarnamahal and produce them in court.
The Attorney General had further instructed the IGP to launch a criminal investigation against the Board of Directors.
Nalaka Edirisinghe is accused of accepting Rs. 13.7 billion in deposits, misappropriation and money laundering.
It is reported that the Attorney General has also decided to file indictments in the High Court against its Board of Directors.
Swarnamahal Financial Services and ETI Finance Ltd. have been the subject of various allegations of misconduct by its depositors since 2011.
