The new director, not a film director but an overseas director to handle a popular game in the country, will receive $ 30,000 a month (Rs. 58 lakhs) for his new job.

Why such a big amount, one asked. He is a “white” you fool, not a dark-skinned local. That was the answer. Fair enough!

Why white skins, imported from overseas, are so expensive? And, will the proposed stratospheric pay will entirely go to this “imported director”? Or a sizeable commission of it will go to a “middleman” who struck the deal?

Anyway this new director will have to work for only 100 days per year – means about three months per one year (an income of more than $ 90,000 per year / $ 30,000x3 = $ 90,000) and $ 1,000 per every working day (nearly Rs. two lakhs per day).

Likewise, his duration for the job will be three years, means (100x3 = 300 days). That means 300 working days altogether for three years – round about 10 months altogether. Therefore the total amount this foreign director will get for his three-year contract could be $ 300,000 (Rs. 58.3 million).

And we repeat the same interesting question. Is all this money going to this director? Or the “middlemen” who made the successful negotiation with this new director gets a percentage of it?

It is up to the authorities to look into the issue here. One thing is, is a “foreigner” essential to direct this “movie”, so to say? Don’t you have a farer director who can be found locally and can do the same job? Next, if these “middlemen” continue to fleece on the money this popular game generates, those authorities who appointed those individuals to high positions have to be answerable to the public one day.

These “middlemen” always tend to hide behind “glorified” façades and continue to do their own, usual businesses. And they tend to harp on about the services they did to the country in the past. Now their intention is not to uplift the game but to line their own pockets, that too at a time this popular game is apparently having its swansong in this country.
