The Jathika Jana balawegaya (JJB) said during the budget debate in Parliament today that no agricultural production has increased except for paddy after the new government came into power.
JJB MP Vijitha Herath said the government came into power assuring to create an economy based on increased agricultural production.
“According to Central Bank data, production of tea, rubber and coconut have decreased. Only the paddy production has increased. The Central Bank said paddy harvest was enough for 16 months but the government has imported 10,726 MT of paddy this year,” he said.
