State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control Dr. Sudharshini Fernandopulle stated that it has been decided not to allow any public gatherings in the coming month.
The decision comes as the prevalence of COVID cases is on the rise.
Specialist Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle stated that complications are also emerging in the young community infected with COVID.
She further mentioned that steps will be taken to isolate the villages where the highest number of patients are reported.
Police are also urging the public to be vigilant about health and road safety over the coming weekend.
"COVID clusters and sub-clusters are forming in some parts of the island these days," she said.
