No probe despite push by Ravi

01 Sep 2019

A committee has not been appointed to investigate allegations that Rs.1.2 billion of the Central Cultural Fund (CCF) has not been accounted for, despite a push by Minister Ravi Karunanayake. Sources at the Prime Minister’s Office said that no such committee had been appointed though there was a request. The CCF falls under the purview of Housing, Construction, and Cultural Affairs Minister Sajith Premadasa. There were reports last week that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had appointed a committee headed by his Secretary Saman Ekanayake to look into the matter.
