OMP Chief to resign
- PC Peiris to contest for BASL presidency

The Chairman of the Office on Missing Person (OMP) is to resign in September to contest for the presidency of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL).
“I will be resigning to contest for the post of President of BASL. My resignation will come into effect from 31 September,” OMP Chairman Saliya Peiris PC told The Morning.
He said that he will be overseeing operations at the office till end of September.
“The President, upon the recommendations of the Constitutional Council, can appoint a new chairman on 1 October itself. Till then, I will continue to manage operations,” Peiris added.
