‘One Country, One Law’ not implemented in its entirety in any country: Gammanpila
Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila today said that the ‘One Country, One Law’ concept is not implemented in its entirety in any country as there could be special rules pertaining to different sectors of society such as women, children and the disabled.
This was stated at the virtual Cabinet meeting held today in response to a question posed on the situation between the President and MP Harin Fernando.
“There are always special laws pertaining to different sectors in society. However, the ‘One Country, One Law’ concept was brought to change different private laws of certain communities in the country,” he stated.
