Online learning: SJB urges govt. to provide proper facilities & concessions

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) today urged the government to provide proper facilities and concessions to students who are continuing their education via internet.

Speaking at a news conference today, SJB MP Tissa Attanayake said that not all students have access to internet or can afford the facility.

“Sri Lanka does not have 100 per cent internet coverage, especially in remote areas. Spending for internet facilities has also taken a toll on the parents as it is an added expense. Therefore, we urge the government to provide proper communication facilities and relief on expenses for internet facilities,” he said.

In the meantime, he said the government can utilize state television networks to educate the children.
