PCR testing laboratory now at Narahenpita Military Hospital

[gallery columns="2" size="medium" ids="97385,97387,97389,97386"] Recognising the increasing need to improve laboratory facilities dedicated to running PCR tests, the Sri Lanka Army on 08 September established a fully equipped laboratory facility at the Narahenpita Military Hospital. The laboratory has a capacity to run 300 diagnostic PCR tests and with the assistance of expert virologists and molecular biologists they have the capacity to improve it up to 600. The construction of the facility had costed Rs. 30 million was supported by Sampath Bank PLC, WSO2 (pvt) Ltd.,  and Ceylon Biscuits Limited Group. Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva and Secretary for the Ministry of Health Maj. Gen. Dr. Sanjeewa Munasinghe ceremoniously vested the facility for medical use. Photos Lalith Perera
