Following the emergence of video footage which depicts officers attached to Eravur Police brutally attacking civilians, The Morning learns that an inquiry on the same has been initiated
Speaking to The Morning, Eravur police acting OIC Shahavir confirmed that the attack did take place, and an inquiry is currently happening at the police station.
"The civilian party and the police officer is currently at the police station, and the civilian has been attacked. We are having an inquiry right now, and we will take this investigation further,” confirmed acting OIC Shahavir.
The attack is said to have happened opposite the Marliya rice mill.
