The Sri Lanka Police has arrested three people from Negombo for the illegal possession of 223 Star Tortoises, which they had intended to export.
Two of the suspects are Indians and the other is a resident from Mulleriyawa.
Sri Lanka Police said that the three who were arrested were caught red handed while attempting to transport 223 star tortoises, along with a lorry which was used for the logistics.
