The police recorded a statement from Sri Lanka Freedom Party General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera today (18).
It was reported that Jayasekara appeared before the Colombo Deputy Inspector General (DIG) to record his statement and left the station after a period of three hours.
After his statement was recorded, the MP justified to reporters that he was at the station that day by order of the Kuliyapitiya Police Officer in Charge (OIC), in order to avoid a problem.
