Postal Department provided medicines to 1.7 MN families so far: Keheliya

Cabinet Spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella stated that the Department of Posts has taken steps to provide medicine to 1.7 million families at home.

He stated that the Postal Department has received the highest revenue for the first time in the past 48 hours at a Cabinet decision briefing held at the Government Information Department today (22) .

“The Department of Posts can be described as an institution that does a silent service during these difficult times.  I would like to thank all the staff of the Postal Department for continuing their services during and after this difficult period of the first round of home treatment of 1.7 million families with the Covid-19 pandemic,” Rambukwella said.

He also said that the number of deaths due to complications was high and that one of the reasons for this was the inability to get medicine on time.
