3 candidates have officially joined the race to contest for the seat as the President of Sri Lanka further to the announcement in Parliament today (19). Accordingly, Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe, MP Dullas Alahapperuma and MP Anura Kumara Dissanayaka have been nominated and their candidacy accepted by Parliament. Further, a vote within Parliament will be held tomorrow (20), commencing at 10am, and an announcement will be made as to who the next President of Sri Lanka would be.
