The draft of the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution is expected to be tabled before the Cabinet of Ministers this week, government sources said.
The Cabinet is scheduled to meet at 4.00 p.m. on Wednesday (September 2) under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The draft of the 20th Amendment has been submitted to the Attorney General (AG) for observations.
Meanwhile, the proposal on the committee to be appointed by the Justice Ministry for the drafting of the proposed new Constitution is to also be taken up this week’s Cabinet meeting, sources added.
